About My Work

"From a thousand threads we weave one cloth".

Winter time in Santa Fe.
One person exhibition at the Jean Cocteau Theatre in Santa Fe.

I have been a printmaker, a textile designer and a painter. I have come to understand that making art is a fluid process that is constantly being refined. The many different materials I use create both physical and emotional depth. My paintings offer each of us a quiet moment to consider our paths, to remember our place at the circle and to know that we are the individual threads that complete one fabric.

The land, the people, and the animals and their stories have inspired my mixed media paintings. I use water color, colored pencil, oil pastel, ceramic stucco on water color paper and canvas. Each element is a collage piece made from specialty and water color papers. I am currently working on four collections in my work: ON COMMON GROUND, a multicultural collection of women of power, wisdom and beauty, drawn from the wheel of life; EARTHSCAPE, landscapes that celebrate the six directions, North, South, East,West, Above and Below and echo the myths from many cultures by my use of pattern and color; ANIMAL SPIRITS, the animals that connect us to ourselves, each other and our land; and MAGICAL BOTANICALS, exploring succulents, exotic flowers and their environments.
